Award-winning indie rockers Arcade Fire have been announced this week as the headline act for the INmusic festival taking place on the weekend of 21-22 June in Zagreb, Croatia.
Fresh from their win at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, the Montreal band are riding high, both in the charts and the esteem of music fans worldwide. More Arcade Fire t-shirts must have been sold in the past six months than the past six years, and their star is only set to rise higher.
The INmusic festival is also welcoming experimental band Grinderman this year as the other headline act. The fest takes place on the shores of Lake Jarun, and promises to be a fantastic excuse for a Croatian holiday, with 60,000 revellers expected to descend on the rural idyll.
With the first INmusic taking place in 2006, the event has swiftly grown to become Croatia’s biggest music festival, and has seen artists as diverse as Moby, Franz Ferdinand, Kraftwerk, Lily Allen, The Prodigy, LCD Soundsystem and Morrissey headline in the past.
