Pop vixen Britney Spears revealed at the weekend that the next single from her ‘Femme Fatale’ album is to be ‘Criminal’ – and it will be accompanied by a vid with a “really cool concept.”
Britney let slip the plans on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards 2011 (VMAs).
Interviewed by the channel that has launched a thousand music t-shirts, she responded to questions about her new single by declaring: “I don’t know if I’m at liberty to tell. But I will anyways – it’s ‘Criminal’.”
“Actually the song, when I first heard it, I thought ‘It’s really different and there’s not anything I’ve heard like this before’. So I really wanted to deliver this song.”
All she would say about the video, however, was that “I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting. You’ll have to see.”
Britney was at the VMAs to pick up two gongs – the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which was presented by Lady Gaga dressed as her male alter ego Jo Calderone, and Best Pop Video for “Till The World Ends.”
