Organisers of the prestigious Coachella music festival released the provisional list of artists scheduled to appear at the event this April in Indio, California.
The weekend in the desert heat is a must for many music fans in the USA and elsewhere, with a reliably eclectic mixture of rock, dance, hip-hop, folk and alternative artists playing their heart out under the sun and stars.
The official line-up was released this week, with the headline acts announced as rapper Kanye West, plus rockers Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire.
Kanye West’s show is eagerly anticipated, as he is famous for giving fans a spectacular they won’t forget, and always putting as much of himself into his sets as possible. This is also the first big gig for Kanye since the release of his last album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
The UK’s very own dark and twisted angel, PJ Harvey is also booked to appear at Coachella, giving thrills to two generations of American alternative music fans, who rarely see her over that side of the pond. Music industry commentators believe that the tracks from her soon-to-be-released album Let England Shake will sound “epic” Coachella’s massive sound rig.
Many fans will be showing their dedication to their favourite bands at the festival this year by sporting the appropriate band t-shirt – with the savviest picking up the best designs at the best prices online.
The Coachella Festival takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Coachella Valley on the 15,16 and 17 April.
