Police arrested two men in Devon today after uncovering what appears to be a bizarre plot to kidnap and possibly murder British soul diva Joss Stone.
Reports say that two men “aged 33 and 30” were nabbed by police after travelling 200 miles from Manchester to Stone’s country home. It was initially believed they were planning to burgle the house, but when swords, rope and a body bag were found on them, as well as maps of the property and aerial photographs, things took a darker turn.
The distinct lack of music t-shirts also gave the lie to any idea that they might be overzealous fans.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Detective Inspector Steve Parker said: “The men had information and items that lead us to suspect that they may have intended to commit a criminal offence.”
Joss Stone is currently being kept informed of any developments by the detective team assigned to the case, the paper added – as well as pointing out that the singer is a friend of Prince William!
