Former Oasis front man Liam Gallagher, now lead singer of new band Beady Eye (also made up of his other non-blood related fellow Oasis band mates) made an emphatic statement this week regarding his well documented stormy relationship with his brother, singer/guitarist Noel.
When discussing his brother, Liam said: “Lets be clear about one thing here – this band is not a stop gap until me and our kid bump into each other. Him and me are over and done with. This is the real deal.”
Going on to liken Oasis, whom Noel suddenly and surprisingly left in 2009 to “a child from a previous relationship”, Liam Gallagher revealed that the heated backstage row between the two brothers that led to Noel’s departure also inadvertently helped form the new band Beady Eye on the very same night.
“I remember looking around the table that night and thinking ‘He’s a great guitarist, so is he, he’s a great drummer and I’m a geezer so let’s continue on without him,” Liam said.
