It was the album that spawned grunge as a massive international phenomenon, from the band that continue to spawn millions of music t-shirts – but this week, Nirvana’s phenomenal Nevermind celebrated its 20th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, online video provider Vevo is giving a special full-length airing of 1991’s ground-breaking Nirvana concert at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre for the next 24 hours.
The concert is the only Nirvana gig believed to have been captured in its entirety on film. Originally shot on 16mm film with multi-track audio, it has now been digitally remastered in stunning quality and is also available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
From 5pm today it became available to UK viewers via http://www.youtube.com/user/NirvanaVEVO. The provider is also planning to give the concert another anniversary airing on Halloween night. So there are plenty of opportunities for Nirvana and Kurt Cobain fans, from past and present, to witness this piece of musical history.
